Poem: Embracing Cycles

If one leaps off the diving board

There is a fall

Why is falling part

of life

a new place

a splash of water

an underwater holding of one’s breath

the body sinking and gliding

How else might we jump?

what if

everything has an end

and what’s best from it

is reborn

resurfaces

in this way

one’s dance

never ends

It just transforms

The ending creating space

for something new

Chapters of a friendship

a life

and new life

arrives

Cycles

that nature brings

How might one soften to listen here

to this flow

To trust it to guide

the gentle steps forward

And lean into

the holding and grace

Of it

fully

relentlessly

with courage and

rest
