Nature’s Divine Paintbrush

This poem is from “Inspired Shares” sent weekly to those who are on the email list. Feel free to sign up if you would like to receive them. This and many poems from the weekly Inspired Shares are published here on the web site.

Inspired shares this week is a poem about divinity, nature and humility.  I wrote it yesterday morning as I was walking in the Oregon hills and saw a rainbow and a snowy mountain peak.

I was reminded in that moment of humility, gratitude for nature and spirit that we are as small as a grain of sand on an ocean floor. My prayer is that each of us shines our light aligning to our highest self and offer our unique brightness to the world.

Nature's Divine Paintbrush
The first snow gently

covers the mountaintop from afar

reflecting a rainbow

in the distance

inviting the colors of dimension

to settle in one’s heart

a reminder

to listen

to be still

to trust

the paintbrush of nature

to orchestrate

the blank canvas

and choose the colors and brightness

for each part of creation.

A grain of sand on an ocean floor

glistens its brightness

in an underwater tapestry

 amidst the salty oceans

and filtered sunlight

until that grain of sand

can feel the snowflake on the mountain

and dance.
